It’s summer time – perfect time to get some light and colorful home decoration accents. When everything around is bursting with life, why shouldn’t your interior decoration ideas be just as joyful as the world outside? I suggest finding inspiration for that in creatures representing all that summer vitality – let me show you a couple of bird inspired home decoration accents that you will surely be glad to use at your own home.
From wallpapers to lamp design – birds are the inspiration for designers to add that subtle, colorful accent of wings or feathers. While using too much of such accents may be considered slightly kitsch, with the right amount of bird inspired accents you could create an aura of a tropical rainforest. Looking at such designs you can almost hear the birds’ sing with joy…
Why not make the art of origami masters a little bit more modern? Those light green wall stickers certainly do their job of adding some ‘movement’ to the interior extremely well. White walls and furniture are the perfectly harmonious background for the accent.
While we are on the subject of origami – maybe you could put some classical origami into your interior design as well? Make some space for a flock of colorful birds in your living room and you will find yourself pleasantly surprised every time you enter the room.
This headboard most definitely is the key element of the interior design. The other decoration accents are kept in slightly less bold shades of orange and beige, but they still have some quilting. When it comes to the patterns you could pair the leading fabric of the headrest with some delicate floral or paisley patterns.
For those of you who enjoy a bit of contrast every now and then – a room with dark blue walls decorated with beige and white furniture. For home decoration accents that are completing the color palette there are gold and purple home accessories – among them some purple plaster birds on the wall.
Now it’s time for one of my favourite bird inspired accents – an entire collection of fabrics and wallpapers designed by Matthew Williamson. All of them are in bold, vibrant colors, yet their pattern is very subtle and I would say that it could go well with many interior design styles. Like in this room – a late XIX century apartment with modern furnishing in bold colors and a bold colored wallpaper to match.
Don’t be afraid to use yellow, pink and crystals together. As you can see with some beige and white to calm the interior down, as well as traditional forms of furniture it is nothing but sophistication.
Another piece from this great designer – bird accents on the curtains and cushion with another tropical pattern from the collection to match. Just add some beige marble, more home decoration accents in white as well as in slightly bolder colors that would compliment the dominating violet – and there you have it, very traditional furniture forms in the living room with a very modern twist.
As you could see, bird inspired accents might be something that your interior has always been missing – so don’t hesitate to add some now. Their lightness and playfull is simply irreplaceable. Follow the Home Inspiration Ideas blog to find more brilliant ideas for your interior decorating!
